Ms. Campbell's 8PK English class have been enjoying reading their class novel 'Private Peaceful' by Michael Morpurgo. Over the last few weeks, they have been exploring the historical context. After exploring how war propaganda was used to persuade men to join the World War I effort, they designed their own propaganda poster. Additionally, after reading the chapters that depict trench warfare, the class, using dramatic strategies such as sound, movement and gestures, dramatised life in a World War I trench. They also creatively wrote a diary entry about life as a soldier in the trenches.
