COVID-19 Testing Programme – Issuing of Test Kits

29th Mar 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian

COVID-19 Testing Programme – Issuing of Test Kits

I hope you and your families are all keeping well.  The girls are once again getting settled back into school life.

Further to the Pupil Consent Form given to our senior students on Monday 22nd March, we have now started issuing the test kits to our Year 12, 13 & 14 students who have completed the form and consented to participating in the above programme.

We have been advised by the Department of Health to nominate two days of the week for the test to be done at home: -

FIRST TEST                                                                  SUNDAY 11th April 2021 (Evening)

SECOND TEST                                                             WEDNESDAY 14th April (Evening)

Every Sunday & Wednesday Evening thereafter.

It is imperative that you do not alter from these arrangements.

Printed instructions are provided within each test kit and you should read these carefully before carrying out the test.   We recommend you also watch the video: - How to do a COVID-19 Self Test (rapid antigen test)

Once your daughter has taken her test you must report  the result immediately  (Negative or Positive) on the NHS portal or by ringing 119.

If the result is Positive you must inform the school first thing the following morning (open 8.00am), self isolate and follow the PHA Guidelines.

If the result is Negative your daughter can come to school as normal but must still adhere to Public Health Guidance around social distancing, face coverings and hand washing.

Please find attached “A guide to Lateral Flow Testing, Information for students, staff & Parents”, for your perusal.

We thank you for your ongoing support, as we know that you will appreciate that no one can afford to become complacent.

Yours faithfully
