St. Mary's High School marks the beginning of Holy Week

6th Apr 2020

In the words of our Principal;

" Holy Week is the most important week in the Church calendar and I think it is befitting that during this crisis that we spend some time in prayer for all our families, those members of the NHS who are risking their lives for us, for those care assistants who are looking after the elderly and those key workers who are providing important services for all of us."

In school staff would be preparing for our annual Easter service. This year we have to bring the service to you virtually and Mrs Wylie has kindly put together some short prayers for our students to say with their families. There are also some prayer services for families to participate in during the week.  These will be posted throughout the week.

We hope you all have a very safe and peaceful Easter.

A Prayer Moment with Your Child

Let’s pray now to God, the source of all love and compassion:

God of judgment and mercy, thank you for your love,
which continually calls me to come closer to you.
Help me to see you in all people I meet
and to recognize how to serve you by helping others,
especially those in need.
Amen

Bless My Grandparents

Dear Lord,

I pray that you watch over my grandparents.
Please bless them with your love.
May you keep them safe and guard their path
and protect them from above.

I pray that they will always know,
and I can help them see,
just how much I love them
and what they mean to me.

The Joy of Easter

Oh, dear Lord, when I first learned
about your Crucifixion,
fear was in my heart.

Knowing what they did to you
is hard to understand.
I was worried that we lost you
but trusted, this was planned.

Now, I understand the joy
your painful path would bring.
Now, I know your sacrifice
that we rejoice and sing.

Behold the joy of Easter,
the miracle we were shown.
Rejoice your Resurrection,
our faith forever sown.

A Prayer for Aunts and Uncles

Thank you, God, for giving me
my loving aunts and uncles.

I pray that you watch over them
and always keep them safe.

The time we spend together
brings me happiness and joy.

I feel so many blessings from
their love and kind embrace.

I pray that they will always know
they are ever in my heart.

And I will always hold them close,
even when we are apart.
