Life Skills Programme for Year 14

On Friday 18th January Mr Williamson’s year 14 Personal Finance class had Dervla Strong the lead facilitator of Barclays LifeSkills Programme from the Charity, Business in the Community Northern Ireland to deliver an engaging and informative lesson on credit cards, the benefits and disadvantages, managing bank accounts, the impact of social media and fraud protection/prevention.

The students worked through different scenario based questions and engaged in tasks to further develop their understanding of key finical terminology.

The following clip was shown to the girls to show them how easy it is to obtain personal information from Social Media which can be used to commit fraud. This was to raise awareness of personal internet safety.
