Remote Learning and Pupil Engagement

13th Jan 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I hope you and your families are all safe and well.  The month of January is always a difficult month, compounded this year by a major health issue which is still gathering momentum.  We recognise that it is very difficult for everyone. However, we are hoping that the girls are trying to get themselves into a work routine.  Some days will be better than others in terms of motivation.

We would really appreciate if you would discuss the following with your daughter:

  • Each morning she needs to be registered with her Form Teacher
  • She needs to complete the work that has been set by her class teacher and meet the deadlines
  • If she is having any difficulties with the work set, she needs to alert the teacher through Google Classroom or by emailing the teacher directly regarding the problem
  • She can also contact her Form Teacher or Head of Year regarding any issues
  • Any student who would like counselling can email Mrs Arkins directly at markins933@c2kni.net

In line with the directive from the Department of Education, DE Circular 2020/08, schools will be required to mark a student absent if they are not engaging in their learning.  It is therefore very important that your daughter is providing evidence of work completed.

It is crucial that your daughter does not fall behind with her learning and we want to support her.

We are very realistic in terms of the demands that our young people are facing at present and we want to work with you to support your daughter.

Yours sincerely,

Ms McLaughlin.
