On Friday 19th October 2018 St Mary’s High School hosted a Maths shared Education event. Pupils and their teachers from De La Salle and Blackwater Integrated College were invited to join St Mary’s pupils to celebrate the end of Maths Week Ireland 2018.
Year 8 pupils, who had previously never met before from the three schools took part in fun icebreaker activities, active learning maths activities using the IZAK 9 resource and a maths related quiz.
The pupils were very interested and engaged in all of the different tasks set. They showed great perseverance and had a great sense of achievement in all of the tasks set. It was very exciting to be part of such a positive experience for all of the pupils. All of the pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves, improved their confidence in maths and made some new friends.
