Shoe Box Appeal 2020

6th Nov 2019

Every year the Christmas Shoebox Appeal sends thousands of gift-filled shoe boxes to children in Africa and Eastern Europe.

The children who receive these shoeboxes are affected by poverty in different ways. Many come from families with very little income, others live on the margins of society or in areas affected by conflict. Shoe boxes are given based on need alone and bring joy and excitement to children living in often very difficult situations.

Each pupil was asked to bring in 1 item to donate towards a shoe box, and also 50p as a contribution to the cost of carriage. Yet again our girls went above and beyond, with many pupils bringing in shoe boxes filled with lovely presents. In total we were able to donate 43 boxes to Team Hope. Well done to all students and staff who contributed towards this.

Special thanks goes to 8RG, 9LK and Year 13 who helped to compile the boxes.

We look forward to the seeing the children receive our boxes, knowing that we have made a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
