Recently, as part of our Shared Education Programme, our student council took part in a Shared Educational lesson/presentation hosted in De La Salle High School, the presentation was given by Cara-Friend which was established in 1974 as a voluntary counselling, befriending, information, health and social space organisation for LGB&T community. Since then they have been established as one of the most encompassing organisations in Northern Ireland, bringing together all ages, all genders and sexual orientations under one umbrella. They advocate unceasingly on behalf of the LGB&T community with the media, churches, government departments and politicians alike. An enjoyable morning was had by all students and staff members involved.
