Take a trip down memory lane - Video of the photos and memorabilia from the last 60 years

5th Dec 2017

St Mary’s High School, Downpatrick has held a number of events to celebrate the school’s diamond jubilee this year. Sixty years ago the Sisters of Mercy established the school in honour of their founder, Sister Catherine McAuley who was dedicated to the education of girls. The school has flourished on the foundations established by the Sisters of Mercy providing a high quality education for every child. Our school motto ‘Every Child Matters’ is at the heart of all that we do. We have high aspirations for every child. The focus on a growth mindset and a ‘Can do Attitude’ are embedded across the school to support our students in an encouraging way. We are proud of our 60-year history and all our achievements.

Please watch the video of the photos and memorabilia from the last 60 years.

It will hopefully bring back fond memories of our school. It also provides us with the opportunity to recognise the impact St Mary’s has had on the local community and to thank the community for the support it has given to the school.
