Cambodia 2019

4th Jul 2019

On July 1st, Mrs Arkins and three students set off for Cambodia in the early hours. After a couple of days to acclimatise to the humidity they will set of for the camp today.

The last few days have been busy as the team visited the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh followed by a tour of S21 where they met with some survivors of the torture inflicted by Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. They then visited The Killing Fields and were informed of the genocide ordered by Pol Pot. The team found this very interesting and very emotional.

We look forward to hearing about their volunteer work over the coming few weeks.

Many thanks to St. Patrick's Grammar School for the group photos.
