In celebration of International Women’s Day 2022 art pupils marked the occasion and acknowledged women artists in the spirit of this year’s theme #breakthebias!
Pupils investigated the work of amazing women artists that changed the art world, including Barbara Hepworth, Yayoi Kusama, Sonia Boyce, Georgia O'Keeffe, Dayanita Singh and Paula Rego.
The pupils also researched the work of the Guerrilla Girls, an anonymous group of feminist, female artists devoted to fighting inequality, sexism and racism within the art world.
The pupils created posters of motivational quotes and used their time to reflect upon and discuss the qualities and strengths we admire in these inspirational artists.
